How much is the design fee for a laundry design?
My laundry design fee starts at $3,600 depending on the size and specifics of the laundry. Once a deposit of $450 is paid an initial consultation is confirmed and I then visit for an initial consultation. This is where I ask lots of questions so I can better understand your current laundry process and how it can be improved. I do a deep dive into what dreams you have for your new laundry including storage requirements, colours and materials you love, the overall function of your laundry and budgets and time frames. This helps me design a perfect laundry for you.
The remaining amount of the design fee is paid and then I start designing your new laundry. This includes selecting materials and finishes and the layout of the laundry including cabinetry. We will then meet so I can show you my ideas for the design. At this meeting I will show you a 3D rendering of your laundry so you can get a good sense of where everything is located and I will also show you samples of materials and finishes and lighting suggestions. I will give you a direction for appliances and once you have chosen these and the design layout is approved final 3d renderings will be completed along with elevations for the joinery. You will now have detailed drawings and a materials and finishes schedule that details all selections so these can be supplied to a builder for quoting purposes. My design fee includes a 1 hour meeting on site with a builder and cabinet maker to go though the design. If any further site meetings are required these will be charged at $200 per hour.
