The Australian coastal style has a relaxed coastal vibe which is so popular today when people are decorating their homes. I love it because it suits the Australian lifestyle where we are quite casual in the way we live.
These are my favourite coastal items at the moment. This buffet that is a mix of wicker and timber is so stylish and this could be used as a side table in a family room or also in a bedroom. I love these timbers that are grey wash or weathered because they are so light and they look fresh and modern.
I am a blue girl so I really love this lamp that is a mixture of ink blue and muted pink with a leaf motif design on it that is really beautiful. The print helps to pick up the blue in the lamp and the cushions and it gives the room a definite beach style.
Wicker is always stylish and timeless so I love using it in my room designs and it also makes the room feel more cosy and not so formal which is nice. What about that couch. I love it because the design is so classic and the contrast piping is so stylish. This is a couch style and colour that you would never get sick of.
The lamp is fresh with the white base and the natural shade works well with the colours of all the timber and wicker. Top it of with a brass crab and some hydrangeas and I would be perfectly happy to spend a week end in this home.
I hope you are inspired, Andrea xx
The coastal style is so easy to live with because it has a relaxed feel that I love. Here are a few of my favourite lamps in this style. A glass lamp is always classic like this one so it’s a good buy to stand the test of time. I always like to add texture to my homes so this beautiful wicker lamp is great for that. Of course I have chosen a classic blue and white ceramic lamp with a natural linen shade because it is so Hamptons. These lamps are all reasonably priced so please contact me if you want more information as I’d love to help. Andrea xx
I love designing bedrooms that are elegant and timeless. This one has everything to make that happen- A grey tufted bedhead that you will still love in 5, even 10 years time. Now, let me talk about bed linen because for me it’s all about crisp white sheets and donna covers that always look fresh and yes timeless. Think about when you stay at a nice hotel and there is nothing better than getting into the nice white sheets. I love it! The other thing I like for my bedding is two feature cushions (yes thats right – only two). I don’t have time to fluff endless cushions for my bed each day so for me its all about having two cushions that you really love so a lot of times when I am working with clients these will be custom made so we can get that perfect fabric. If you know me then you know I love ottomans at the end of a bed but for this bedroom there wasn’t a lot of space at the end of the bed so I chose this beautiful love seat to go under the window to the side. This provides a seat to put on your shoes or let’s get real- it will probably be where your clothes get thrown at the end of the day. I chose these beautiful mirrors for above the bedside tables to add height because the ceilings were really high.
Hope you are inspired to create a bedroom you love, Andrea xx
I think mirrors make all the difference in a bathroom and these are some of my favourites which are all available from our on line store. I selected this top mirror for my Essendon project and they looked great in all the bathrooms. They are the perfect size and I love the style. I think they are also a bargain at $265.
These brass mirrors (as shown in the above concept) are also a beautiful style that look awesome on their own or if you have a double vanity they look awesome with a wall light in the middle.
I hope you are inspired to not use a boring plain mirror in your bathroom because in my opinion it makes a lot of difference to the end result.
I love blue so this week I would like to share my favourite blue prints. They range from coastal prints to abstract Ikat designs which are perfect for above a console or above a bed.
I hope you are inspired to create a home you love. Andrea xx
